“Gordo! Came to personally see this one in, eh?” Carlos waddled over to the dock. With every step, he had to work hard to swing his 250-pound, 6-foot frame. His meaty legs struggled to get past each other with each thrust forward, and Gordo shook his head in disgust. That was no way to live, but it also wasn’t his problem.
“We’ve got ten pallets unloaded already. They’re over there.” Carlos pointed to the side of the warehouse. “We’ve still got ten more to unload. This load is pretty heavy, buddy. What do you have in these cartons?” Carlos usually didn’t ask any questions, but his curiosity was getting the best of him this time.
“You ask too many questions, my friend.” Gordo slipped another wad of money into the still open hand of his buddy Carlos. This quickly dampened any curiosity Carlos had about the mysterious load, and ensured silence from that point forward.
“I’d say you have a lot of pretty damn heavy blankets here,” Carlos laughed heartily.
